Skipping Out of the Big City Market

We took some time off and skipped out of the big city market. Not, of course, to have some sort of relaxing vacation, but rather because we had too much going on, and the weather was supposed to be miserably hot. We tortured ourselves over the decision, because it's so easy to back out, and once you start on that path, it becomes a slippery slope to being a slacker, but the time was right. We couldn't manage with the kids in camp and so many other things going on.

When we called the market director, she tore me a new on because I had waited until the day before, or rather the evening before, to let her know, giving her little to no time to find a replacement. It kind of hurt my feelings.

Either way, we bailed, and it was like having a vacation, even though we were busy the entire time. Just not having the stress and trials of being at the market is like a ray of sunshine. Hmm, maybe we should pay attention to that information.

The final bit of irony is that the weather wasn't as hot as they said it would be, and I'd heard it was a nice day in the big city.

Such is life. Until the next time, thanks for reading, and thanks to Roman Volkov for the pic.
