I don’t recall if we’re on day 6
or 7, and you know when you’ve lost track of the days, you’re in good shape
when you’re on vacation. One directive that has come down from above (i.e.,
A&N) is no more visiting churches and looking at
statues, which when you really get down to it, is kind of hard to do when you’re
in Italy (a uber-Roman Catholic country) and learning about the Middle Ages and
the Renaissance, which is basically all about Christianity and the power of the
Church. Plus, pretty much 99.9% of the images you see involve either the
Bambino, Mary, or the crucifixion. Very powerful imagery, but when you’re 8-10
years old, it can get old quickly.

Either way, we’ve left our beloved
Tuscany and are on the eastern coast of Italy. I have to say, it’s not as
picturesque in my opinion, but we are at the sea, and there’s something to be
said for that.
Until the next time, thanks for
reading.
