Yesterday
was an amazing day, so warm and sunny. It's good because I'm waiting
for all that snow to melt so I can start splitting wood. I feel
inspired, and everyone wants to spend more time outside. We had so
much snow this year that the mud season is going to be brutal, but
the sooner we can get it over with, the sooner we can get on with our
lives. It's not going to be pretty, though.
We
had to run some errands yesterday and then we came home and the kids
wanted to spend some time on the computer, but at some point I felt
we had to get outside. The day is too nice, and it's too
easy/depressing/pathetic being holed up inside all day. For N it's
easy, he longs to be outside, and will venture out on the coldest day
to ride his bike or build something. A, on the other hand, could
spend the entire day in her room reading a book.
I
still had to make supper, but decided the time had come and rallied
the kids to get out. N wanted to ride his bike in the mud, and A and
I walked. It was really nice because there were so many people out
and about, many of them with dogs that we got to pet. It was fun, and
we saw a few of our neighbors and stopped to have a chat. You really
get a sense of how people celebrate the change of seasons out here.
How can you not?
We're
looking forward to it getting warmer, at least until it gets so hot
that I'll start complaining about that. You just can't please some
people.
Until
then, thanks for reading, and thanks to MoodieQM for the pic.
