Scoring Hockey Gear

With hockey season looming on the horizon, it's time to start getting all the gear in order, and as anyone who plays knows, there's a ton of it. The kids are in pretty good shape except that N needs one big ticket item - skates, which are probably the most expensive piece. He's been using his current skates for at least three years, so we've gotten our money's worth out of them. They definitely look like they've been through the ringer. The thing with skates is that it helps to have a decent pair that fits right, so we'll probably go new and hope they last another few years, though that's highly unlikely.

The kids also needed new sticks, and there was a mega sale online where last year's models were about 75-80% off. I got them both sticks for under $20, which is pretty amazing when you consider sticks can cost upward of $100 or more. N also needs a new pair of pants but they aren't to expensive and you can usually find a decent pair of used ones if you look around. The search begins, though when you get down to it, it never really ends.

Until the next time, thanks for reading, and thanks to Dan Theurer for the pic.
