We ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Boloco, the other
day, and I have to say, things were a bit off. Maybe they’re going through some
growing pains from their success. The differences were not huge, and some
people might not have even made an issue out of them, but it is interesting to
see. It could stem from the fact that there is a new crew of people, none of
whom I recognize. Maybe they just need time to get it together.
The first thing I noticed is that the hot sauces are in a
bad way. The one we like is never there, and the area where they keep them is
in complete disarray, messy with all the caps of the bottles missing. It leaves
a bad impression. A mentioned her burrito was hotter than usual, and R ordered
the Mediterranean, which is a veggie deal, but they didn’t add hummus. When I
went to tell them they forgot the hummus, they said they’d been out for a
couple of days. Is that how you deal with a situation?
The food was still good, and we still love Boloco, it’s just
that it wasn’t quite up to speed for us. It’ll be interesting to see how things
evolve in the future.
